LeBron Raymone James Sr. - born 30 December 1984 - is an professionally-trained American basketball star. The player is referred to as King James and is considered to be among the best basketball players ever. James has won four NBA championships, four NBA MVP awards four NBA Finals MVP awards three All-Star MVP awards and two Olympic gold medals. James holds the record for the highest number of points scored in the postseason, second highest all-time score, and the 7th most career assists. The NBA All-Star has made the All-NBA Team 18 times, an all-time record. James has also been selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team 5 times. He's played in ten NBA Finals the third most all time including eight consecutively between the years of 2011 and 2018. In 2021, James was selected to be part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, and in 2022, he became the very first player of NBA history to score 10,000 or more career points in rebounds and assists. James played basketball at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio, where he grew up. National media touted him as a potential NBA star. He was in the process of becoming a professional and selected with the top selection by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Draft of 2003. He was named the 2004 NBA Rookie of Year he soon established himself as one of the best league players, winning his NBA MVP award in 2009 and 2010. James was not able to secure the award with Cleveland, and departed the city in 2010 as a "free agent" in the year 2010. The decision was announced in the TV special The Decision.
